Let's face it: There's so much gear out there! Sequencers, MIDI controllers, drum machines, samplers, synthesizers, (semi)modular synthesizers, pedals, audio interfaces, amps, DJ controllers, you name it! And with so much gear, many issues and questions might arise:
Why doesn't it work as it's supposed to even though I followed the manual?
How do I make my instruments and gear understand each other?
What kind of machines are out there and what do they do?
What gear suits best my artistic vision?
How do I build a live setup?
What does this do?
Gear Talk is organized by girls from KOMA & Common Ground and we are here to help you find answers to these questions and discuss all sorts of issues, experiences as well as personal favourites. Each time, our guests or invited artists will bring their gear and talk about its features and use in their music.
Feel free to bring your machine, manual or anything you have an issue with. If you'd like to present your gear or walk us through your setup, get in touch with us at [email protected]
so we can plan ahead!
Gear Talk is especially welcoming womxn, non-binary as well as youngsters, but it's open to complete beginners and gear heads.
We aim for a completely open and supportive atmosphere. Every question is a good question!
No pre-registration needed. Free entry as per ushe.
