With more and more literature and poetry appearing in the context of contemporary art, as well as an emerging international tradition of writing, this workshop hopes to address some of the developments occurring today and improve the writing and technique of its participants. It is open to writers and artists whose practice encompasses prose, both fiction and non-fiction, poetry, and other text based media. It will be led by novelist and publisher John Holten in the context of Büro BDP. Consisting of five two hour sessions, the course will run from November 7 – December 5, 2017. As well as collective readings of assigned texts, the workshop will focus on group discussion of two participants’ work per session. As the workshop takes place within a publishing house and project room, practical aspects of disseminating work, questions related to audience and other formats will also be part of the course.

To apply please send a short description (max 500 words) of why you would like to take part in the workshop, and a sample of work up to 10 pages in length. Please put 'Workshop Application' as your subject. Email: [email protected]
