Baron Anastis was born and raised in Panorama, next to Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, in Greece and started playing music at the age of 4.
In 2000 he found rock n’ roll comrades in a deep basement in Thessaloniki, with the name Attic Studio, later known as The House Of Kicks. It was the studio of The Hydes, one of his favorite bands.
In 2001 Baron got a gig as a radio producer and host, presenting a weekly show at Thessaloniki’s largest rock n roll radio station, 1055Rock, with cool guests and interviews, where he met Nikki Sudden for the first time. Shortly after they met, they started playing shows together.
In 2003 he formed the Vintage&Used with his close friend Antony Buzz.
The following year he played with The Jacobites and co-produced the last Jacobites recording session alongside The Hydes’ guitarist “Ghost”. However, the songs that were written by Sudden-Kusworth-Anastis during their collaboration were never recorded.
During summer of 2005 Antony Buzz and Baron arranged the Vintage&Used first EP, “Psychacoustic” and planned the recordings for the following autumn, with Nikki Sudden and Dave Kusworth as special guests. The recording was called off after Baron’s operation for a pancreatic tumor removal.
“Psychacoustic” was finally recorded in spring 2006, after Sudden’s death in March 2006.
After the EP was recorded, Baron started a Greek tour with Dave Kusworth & a European solo tour which ended up in Berlin, where he met his long time friend Gabriel Hammond (ex-Lord of Altamont, ex-Fuzztones) who had moved to Berlin and made some music together, in a project that involved Mark Boombastik, before Hammond returned to the States.
The same year he met Mark Stewart (The Pop Group) & became close friends.
In 2007 the Vintage&Used recorded their album Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde.
After a 10-month hiatus from music, to work on his photography projects, Baron and Buzz started working on new songs and the band got back on stage.
In 2009 after a tour with Phil Shoenfelt (Khmer Rouge, Fatal Shore), the Vintage&Used went on their first hiatus and Baron moved to Berlin, Germany and started recording with Mark Stewart.
In 2010 he worked with Tøni Schifer’s (Crippled Dick Hot Wax! Records) new project with Daniel Paul Behnemann.
After 2011’s gigs in Brazil, Baron took almost a year off from music, to work on his photography, until October 2011 when the Vintage&Used played a legendary show in Berlin, with two new additions, Robby Schmidt (ex Beton Combo) as the drummer and the noise musician Jesus Is Angry as the guitarist, what seemed to be the last Vintage&Used show ever.
In late 2011 he recorded some song ideas and riffs with his close friend, musician & producer Boris Köhler (A.K.A. Gary B.) and the following year he formed a short lived band called «KaleidoShips» with Television Personalities members Mike Stone and TexasBob Juarez, and Susan Screen Test drummer Till van Daalen. Their only recording was produced by the former Death In Vegas and The Thrashing Doves member, Ian Button.
In December 2012 Baron had to take a break from music due to another pancreatic tumour removal operation, which was followed by a pancreatitis and it was not until January 2015 that he started playing music again, as a hobby, with Berlin based musician Joe James Boyle.
In March 2015, when he found out that he would soon become a father, Baron started playing regular gigs at Schiller, as small venue in Berlin-Charlottenburg, until the business was sold off. In spring 2015 he joined his long time friends' band The Methylated Spirits.
In April 2016, after quitting Joe James Boyle Band, things started getting serious again He played shows with The Methylated Spirits in Germany and Czech Republic and did a couple of tours, one solo and one double bill Phil Shoenfelt/David Babka Chris Hughes/Baron Anastis.
January 2017 Vintage&Used got back together with the original line up excluding Sonny Touch who was replaced by legendary anarchoguitarist Vasilis Spyropoulos (Spyridoula, ex Echo Tattoo)
In June 2017 Baron Anastis van Hustler joined the Berlin based uke rock band Donut Heart and started working on his band, Baron Anastis & The Erinyes, with Donut Heart drummer Rah Fookinhell.
Baron Anastis is based in Berlin, but shares his time between Berlin (Germany), London (UK) and Possidi (Greece).
