Mobile Izakaya Berlin and Kame Japanese Bakery invite you to one special IZAKAYA evening experience.
This time is 土用の丑 (Doyo-no-ushi) special!!!
Doyo-ushi-no-hi is one of the seasonal customs of Japan. “Doyo” refers to the period of 18 days that Japan has 4 times a year. Japan used to count the dates by the twelve horary signs (ex. Rat, Ox, Tiger, etc. ). The Ox day is called “Doyo-no-ushi”, and because it overlaps the hottest summer season in Japan, the custom of eating eel to get stamina had begun.
Every year in July, you’ll commonly see eel on the menus of restaurants, because in Japan, eating nutritious eel during the hot sultry time of the year helps increase stamina and revitalizes the body.
Following this custom, we will be providing some special eel dishes for the evening.
The Menu will be announced very soon!!!
— — — **An izakaya (居酒屋) is a type of Japanese drinking establishment which also serves food to accompany the drinks. They are casual places for after-work drinking.**
We would like to introduce this nice, and yet important culture/custom from Japan to Berlin, by serving some classical ''Izakaya'' dishes (some non-classical, creative dishes as well), which are usually served as small dishes to snack with drinks.
(pretty much similar to Tapas from Spain.)
