Fête de la Musique is the annual World Music Day, taking place on the first official day of Summer. Berlin is alive with performances right across the city — and we're taking part! In Friedrichshain we're right in the thick of it, so pass by for an evening of live perfomances. Furthermore, we'll be premiering a series of Mexican and German short films for the Mexico-Germany Dual Year CCD (Ciclo de Cine Documental) in our makeshift cinema in the back room.
Live acts and films (more to be announced)
18h DJ Fedde
20h La Maceta
La Maceta are a Mexican Duo performing in Europe throughout the summer. Fernando and Arian's voices and Manouches guitars offer both an original repertory and folk music with gypsy jazz arrangements. Although they are still students at Mexico's Higher School of Music, their first trip to international scenes is prospering: they are invited to Jazz à Vienne Festival's fringe venue (July 6th, France). For the Fête de la Musique (June 21th), the musicians will be playing around Berlin as well as Santa Cantina.
